Privacy policy · effective Aug 24, 2026

Privacy, in plain language.

Street Futures is designed to work without an account. We collect only what is needed to operate, protect and improve the service.

Information collected automatically

When you request a page, the hosting system can process an IP address, request time, requested path, browser user agent and response status for security and reliability. Production access logs are retained for a limited operational period, currently no longer than seven days, unless a security incident requires a longer hold.

Searches and map use

Street Futures uses searches to return relevant public-record pages. Search text is not intentionally written to the public site or sold. The base map loads tiles directly from the NYC Map Tiles service, so that service receives the technical information normally sent with a web request, including an IP address and browser headers.

Messages and correction reports

If you submit a form, we store the name, email address, subject and message you provide so we can review and respond. These messages are not public. They are ordinarily deleted within 90 days after the issue is resolved, unless the correspondence must be retained for security, legal or correction-history reasons.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

At launch, Street Futures does not require an advertising cookie, cross-site tracker or user account. If analytics or advertising is added later, this policy and the consent experience will be updated before non-essential storage is enabled where consent is required.

Local device storage

The site may use local browser storage for interface preferences such as selected map layers. Those preferences stay on the device unless a future feature clearly explains otherwise.

Your choices

You can use the core site without an account and can avoid submitting contact information. To ask about a message you submitted or request deletion of that message, use the contact page and include enough information for us to identify it.
