We prefer canonical agency datasets with stable identifiers, public documentation and a practical way to trace a displayed fact back to its record. Community-created views are not used as the controlling source for core layers.

Open official datasetHomes on the market, and what we take
Everything above is a public agency dataset. The market pages are the one exception, and it is worth being exact about what they are. Four brokerages — RE/MAX, Coldwell Banker, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran — publish sitemaps of the homes they are currently offering, and none of them disallows those pages. What is on them is the address, the asking price and, where the firm states it, the floor area and room count. Those are facts about a property, and this site records them, converts them the same way for every source so they can be compared, and links every single one back to the brokerage's own listing.
Not every firm publishes every field, and nothing is filled in for them. Where a brokerage does not state a floor area, none is shown and no price per square foot is worked out. Where it counts rooms rather than bedrooms, neither number is carried — a three-room New York apartment is a one-bedroom, and putting one figure under the other heading would be a confident mistake.
What is not taken: the photographs, the description, the agent's own words, and the agent's own contact details. Those are the brokerage's. Nor is anything read that a site asks us not to read — Zillow's listing pages refuse automated readers, StreetEasy's robots file disallows its sale and rental sections, and Compass answers for its listing sitemaps with an empty body. None of them is here.
A price on this site is what was published when it was last read, and the date is on every page that shows one. The live price is the brokerage's, which is why the link is always there. A home that has sold or let disappears from these pages the next time its source publishes a list without it.
The same list, machine-readable
Every dataset here, every field the site carries, the figures that are measured rather than estimated, and the mistakes worth avoiding when quoting them, in one plain-text file: /llms.txt. It is generated from the catalog on every release, so it cannot drift away from what the site actually holds.
